Expressing strong concern over the injuries caused to some agitating students in police action on July 3, the Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) has urged all concerned to spare students from joining or participating in any violent protests.
In a statement, ZYF president Titus Kamei said that taking the students including minors out in the streets to join protest demonstrations without the knowledge and consent of the parents amount to infringement of the parents' rights.
It also said that making students to participate in violent protests with maximum risk of life and security is irresponsible act which should be avoided in the interest of keeping education a disturbance free zone.
Encouraging or making innocent students including minor to participate in intense protest on one side and raising slogans for making education a free zone on the other side is not justifiable.
As such, all concerned should spare the students from participating in violent agitation, the ZYF said.
"Let the democratic agitation launch against the Govt on genuine demands continue with the involvement and participation of people who are fully aware of the issue without dragging the innocent minor students and children to it," the ZYF said.
