Imphal, June 17 2013:
The Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School Students' Union has opposed the State Government's move to admit students of TG Higher Secondary School at the school.
It may be mentioned that the State Government decided to turn Ramlal Paul HSS, an all boys school to a girls school, to admit students who could not be accommodated at TG Higher Secondary School.
In a press release, Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School Students' Union said that the union would stand against Government's decision to shift the existing students of Class VI to XII of the school to another school to accomodate the students of TG School.
The press release said that the Government's move is an insult not only to the school but also to the founders of the school.
It also said that the union has banned taking admission of TG Higher Secondary School at Ramlal Paul school until an understanding is arrived with the Government.
Saying that a public meeting on the issue would be held on June 19 at the school, the union urged the representatives of youth clubs, civil society organisations and all the well wishers of the school to attend the meeting.
