MIT students stage protest

Perturbed by alleged recklessness of their institute's principal, students of Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT), Takyel here today staged protest at the complex.
A sit-in protest at the institute's complex demanded immediate replacement of MIT principal Th Kumarjit.
The student demonstrators airing their voice said that the principal was unfit and that he had failed to realize his promise to provide basic amenities to the institute.
They said the institute has no proper toilet and urinal, and drinking water.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Minor Irrigation Employees Association launched a week-long relay hunger strike at the Minor Irrigation office complex, Lamphelpat here raising various demands including clearance of 10 months due salaries of the department's staff.
