Demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the killing of Khullem Tondon, who was found dead at a canal under Lamshang PS yesterday, a sit-in protest was staged today at Keishampat Lairembi.
Representatives of a JAC formed in this connection also submitted a memorandum to the CM demanding justice in the case.
Meanwhile, a public meeting was also held at Luker Mayai Leikai today.
Besides, constituting a JAC, the meeting also adopted several resolutions in connection with the killing of Khullem Tondon.
Amongst others, the meeting resolved to press the authority concerned for immediate justice in Tondon death case.
Urging immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the killing, the meeting also demanded the concerned authority to punish the perpetrators in public.
While registering strong objection to the proposal for conducting forensic test outside the State, the meeting also demanded setting up of full-fledged forensic laboratory in the State.
The public meeting also resolved to carry on agitation until justice is delivered in Tondon death case while also demanding the Assembly to discuss the increasing crime against women in the State during the ongoing Assembly session.
The resolutions were forwarded to the CM by the JAC today.
Khullem Tondon (16) d/o (L) Kulamani of Luker Mayai Leikai was found dead at Haorang Canal under Lamshang PS yesterday.
Suspicion was raised by the locals that the girl was killed after being raped.
