Special outreach health camp conducted

A Special Outreach Health Camp was successfully conducted today at Wahengbam Leikai Community Hall, Ward No 8 under the leadership of Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh.
In a release, Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) informed that the health camp was conducted in partnership with Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Sagolband with the aim to bring essential healthcare services closer to the community, ensuring better access to medical care for all.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr L Joykumar Singh, Chief Medical Officer, said, "The Outreach Health Camp has provided an invaluable opportunity for us to extend vital medical services to the residents of Wahengbam Leikai and people of Ward No 8.This collaborative effort has enabled us to offer free consultations in various medical fields, including General Medicine, Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Eye Care" .
Dr Barbina Khomdram, Medical Officer I/C at UPHC Sagolband, said, "The response from the community has been overwhelming.
Approximately 200 patients sought medical attention and consultation during the camp.
This speaks volumes about the necessity of such initiatives to bridge the gap between healthcare services and the public" .
Expressing his commitment to the welfare of the community, RK Imo said, "Our goal is to ensure that every resident receives the healthcare they deserve.
This outreach health camp is just one step towards achieving that vision.
We are thankful for the collaboration with UPHC Sagolband and the dedication of the medical professionals who made this camp a resounding success" .
The camp went beyond routine consultations, offering free screenings for prevalent health concerns such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Cervical Cancer, and HIV.
These screenings are crucial for early detection and prevention of potentially serious health conditions.
In addition, a range of blood tests and diagnostics were conducted, providing attendees with comprehensive insight into their health status.
The camp not only provided essential healthcare services but also raised awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups and early intervention.
