COVID-19 patient tests negative for second time

The COVID-19 patient from Lilong who has been undergoing treatment at RIMS tested negative for the second time today.
The man was found positive for COVID-19 after his return from Delhi's Nizamuddin where he attended a religious congregation last month.
After his sample tested negative for the first time yesterday, another test was done today and the result turned out to be negative for the second time in the row.
A high ranking official of the Health Department informed that due procedure would be initiated for discharging the man from RIMS.
It is a very positive development that both the two COVID-19 patients of the State have recovered fully, said the official.
Following the successful treatment of the two COVID-19 positive cases, a high level meeting was held today with Chief Minister N Biren in the chair where the next course of action was deliberated at length.
The meeting attended by the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary (Health), Health Director, Directors and Medical Superintendents of both RIMS and JNIMS also reviewed the different measures taken up in the State to control and contain COVID-19 in the State.
Meanwhile, a COVID-19 Medical Materials Management Committee has been constituted with Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Dr Rajesh Kumar as Chairman.
Principal Secretary (Health & Family) V Vumlunmang who is also a member of the committee issued an order to this effect today.
The other members of the committee are Principal Secretary (Planning) Rakesh Ranjan, Commerce and Industries Director C Arthur Worchuiyo.
State Mission Director (NHM) N Geoffrey and Health Director Dr K Rajo.
The committee would regularly make assessment about requirement of COVID-19 medical materials, sources for procurement and related issues to ensure that required medical materials for tackling COVID-19 are always available, mentioned the order.
Further, a technical committee has been constituted to ensure that quality products are supplied for tackling COVID-19 pandemic with the Health Director as its chairman/convenor.
The technical committee would immediately examine COVID-19 related items received by Medical Directorate and ensure that only items fulfilling specifications are accepted apart from maintaining proper records of all items and suppliers.
Directors and Medical Superintendents of RIMS and JNIMS, M/S Babina Diagnostics CMD Dr Th Dhabali, JNIMS Community Medicine HoD Dr Usharani and Raj Medicity, Bio-Medical Engineer Ksh Shiba- nanda are other members of the technical committee.
