CM opens home delivery control room

Imphal, April 19 2020:
To address the grievances and hardships faced by the people of the State in procuring essential items amid the Nationwide lockdown, Chief Minister N Biren Singh today opened Home Delivery Supplies Management Control Room at Dharmasala, Thangal Bazar here.
The Chief Minister stated that any individual or group can contact the toll-free number 1800-313-8171 from 9 am to 3 pm daily and added that such initiative would definitely reduce crowding and help maintain social distancing in the State.

The control room will strengthen the home delivery services being offered by various agencies in the State.
Initially, the control room will be operational for Imphal East and Imphal West and the remaining districts would be covered shortly.
Officials of different Government departments and Chamber of Commerce have been deputed to attend to the grievances of the people, he added.
Biren maintained that the State Government has received certain directives from the Union Government on relaxation of the lockdown in some parts of the State.
He said that a decision will be taken at a Cabinet meeting which is scheduled to be held on Monday.
Based on the Cabinet decision, the Government would issue a notification regarding the sectors or areas where the lockdown would be continued or relaxed, he added.
Mentioning about those Manipuris who are stranded in various parts of the country, he said that the Government has extended one-time financial assistance of Rs 2000 each to 12,561 individuals till now out of 16,172 individuals who have been registered through https://www.tengbang.in.
The Government will further extend financial assistance to those remaining individuals shortly, he added.
He informed that the Government is committed to extending every possible help to those stranded Manipuris.
The Chief Minister stated that the Government is in constant touch with the Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries and DGPs of different States to make sure that every stranded Manipuri is taken care of in their respective States.
Biren then thanked all the people for the co-operation and support extended to the Government in fighting COVID-19 in the State.
He appreciated the selfless sacrifices of doctors, nurses, paramedical staffs and those who are working at the frontline in the fight against COVID-19 in the State.
Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly K Robindro Singh, Sekmai AC MLA H Dingo, Yaiskul AC MLA Th Satyabrata, Additional Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, DCs of Imphal West and Imphal East districts, officials of various departments and members of Chamber of Commerce were also present at the opening function of the control room.
