Soldier laid to rest in hometown

Imphal, April 19 2020:
A mortal remains of S Thongzalian Zou, a head constable of 54 Bn BSF, were laid to rest at his native village Immanuel Khopi, Churachandpur.
S Thongzalian Zou (50) died on April 17 due to prolonged illness at his place of duty in 54 Battalion, BSF, Seemanagar district in West Bengal.
His mortal remains were brought by a special flight of Indian Air Force from Kolkata Airport to Imphal Airport today.
Personnel from 113 Battalion BSF received his mortal remain and escorted till his native village.
The last rite was done by personnel from STC BSF Churachandpur with full force honour.
DK Tripathi, Inspector General along with officers and troops from STC BSF Churachandpur, officers and troops from 113 Battalion BSF as well as police personnel from district police, Churachandpur attended the last rite.
The family members of the deceased expressed their gratitude to BSF for arranging transportation of the mortal remains to his home in spite of the Nationwide lockdown.
