Found Covid positive after being killed in mishap

Imphal, March 19 2021:
Two persons, who succumbed in a road accident on March 17 have been found positive for COVID-19, said RIMS in a letter it wrote to Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur district yesterday.
The two deceased persons were brought at RIMS Hospital for autopsy yesterday by Moirang Police.
Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) was conducted as a prerequisite for autopsy and both were found positive for coronavirus.
The bodies are being kept at RIMS morgue, said the hospital.
Meanwhile, as many as 752 people were vaccinated yesterday while only one person tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the Government COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the 752 vaccinated against Covid, the total number of people inoculated till yesterday has reached 79,414 including 30,976 healthcare workers.
On the other had, the only fresh case was detected at Babina Diagnostics.
The patient hails from Imphal East district.
With this, the total number of positive cases has reached 29,326 including 25,891 civilians and 3,435 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 24 including 22 civilians and 2 Central security personnel.
With zero death due to the disease in the last 24 hours, the death toll remains at 373.The cumulative number of people who have recovered from the disease, meanwhile, has touched 28,929 including 25,500 civilians and 3,429 Central security personnel.
5 people under home isolation recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate stands at 98.64 percent, said the report.
