State logs four new cases, recovery rate reaches 98.38 pc

Imphal, March 18 2022:
The state on Friday reported only four new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 614 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 0.65 per cent positivity rate against 0.80 per cent recorded on Thursday.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 9 patients were discharged from home isola-tion6), RIMS (1) and CCCs (2) .
The number of active cases came down to 103 out of which 34 (33.01 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 292 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 163 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only two reported fresh Covid cases on Friday.
So far, the state has recorded 11,251 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 256 new positive cases and 8 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 77 and 4 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 4 fresh cases (2 male & 2 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (3) .
The positive cases are from Imphal West (2) and Kakching (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,039 (general population -1,32,025 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,816 (general population -1,29,811 and CAPF personnel - 5,005) and number of active cases is 103 (general population -101 and CAPF personnel - 2) .
The recovery rate is 98.38 per cent.
A total of 236 D-type and 111 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, 2907 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,26,462, out of which 11,74,568 had received second doses and 64,338 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,692), Imphal East (30,415), Thoubal (10,140), Churachandpur (11,046), Kangpokpi (3128), Tamenglong (3473), Bishnupur (9821), Senapati (2487), Ukhrul (3267), Kakching (6887), Chandel (2716), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,163 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,649 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,13,416 tests per million population against the national average of 5,56,795 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 614 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 0.65 per cent while the cumulative rate stands at 8.60 per cent.
