Imphal, September 08 2014:
A team of Manipur unit of Naga People's Front (NPF) is now in New Delhi in the hope to persuade the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to impose President Rule in Manipur for alleged blatant violation of human rights by the Ibobi Singh Government.
The NPF team which also comprises party MLAs will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi to win them over and to impose President Rule in Manipur, state NPF general secretary Athuan Abonmai told NNN today.

He said the team will also submit a memorandum to the two leaders and justify the party's demand for imposing President Rule in Manipur.
The failure of the Congress Government headed by Okram Ibobi Singh to treat all communities equally, killing of two persons during a peaceful rally organised against enforcement of Section 144 CrPC in Ukhrul on August 30 and breakdown in law and order are some of the important grounds for demanding imposition of President by NPF in Manipur, he said.
Normal life has remained disturbed in Ukhrul since the enforcement of prohibitory orders, Abonmai said and accused the State Government of failing to protect the life and property of the public.
