Imphal, August 03 2021: The cumulative count of Covid-19 infected cases has breached the 1 lakh mark as the state reported 753 new positive cases and 14 fatalities on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the positivity rate remains under 15 per cent for fifth consecutive day though Tuesday reported 13.75 per cent, slightly higher than 12.67 per cent recorded on Monday.

On the other hand, the cumulative positivity rate is witnessing gradual rise as the state continues to register high positivity rate.

During the second wave of the pandemic, so far, 71,225 positive cases and 1218 fatalities have been recorded, out of which 5804 new cases and 94 fatalities were registered in the last seven days.

The current month witnessed an addition of 2126 new cases and 36 fatalities.

The active caseload has come down to 9490 out of which 3964 (41.77 per cent) are in home isolation, 2872 (30.26 per cent) in CHICs, 1675 (17.65 per cent) in CCCs and 979 (10.32 per cent) in hospitals.

Among the hospitalised patients, 148 patients are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 373 are on oxygen support and 71 are on ventilator support.

On the other hand 86 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.

As of Monday night, 88 beds (21ICU/HDU) in government hospitals, 92 beds (25 ICU/HDU) in private hospitals, 3 beds (2 ICU/HDU) in LFS Covid Care Centre run by MSF, 164 beds (14 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals & CHCs and 1872 beds in different CCCs are available.

According to official reports, the 753 new cases included 748 people (373 male & 375 female) from among the general population and five personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (27), JNIMS (82), District Hospitals (463) and other testing centres (181).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (164), Imphal West (246), Thoubal (46), Bishnupur (68), Kakching (27), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (63), Chandel (29), Senapati (38), Tamenglong (13), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (1), Noney (1), Pherzawl (8), Kamjong (20) and Kangpokpi (21).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 14 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been disclosed by the committee.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (5), Imphal East (5), Bishnupur (2), Ukhrul (l) and Churachandpur (l).

The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1592.Out of the 14 victims, five had first dose vaccines and five had no co-morbidities.

In the last 24 hours, 1063 patients were discharged from home isolation (426), RIMS (28), JNIMS (30), CCCs (231) and CHICs (348).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 100,625 (general population - 96,632 and CAPF personnel - 3,993).Number of recovered cases is 89,543 (general population - 85,607 and CAPF personnel - 3,936) and number of active cases is 9,490 (general population - 9,438 and CAPF personnel - 52).The recovery rate is 88.98 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 2266 D-type and 299 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

Only 13,968 vaccine doses were administered on Monday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 11,17,981 including 2,19,545 people who have got both doses of Covid vaccine.

Meanwhile, 19 new cases were detected out of 103 samples tested from Monday 2 pm to Tuesday 2 pm in Kakching district.

One case was detected at Jivan Hospital and 18 at different government RAT sites.

All are residents of Kakching district.

According to DSO Kakching, the active caseload of the district now stands at 562 out of 5702 total cases registered.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (33,582), Imphal East (22,527), Thoubal (8437), Churachandpur (8584), Kangpokpi (2420), Tamenglong (2826), Bishnupur (7450), Senapati (1841), Ukhrul (1762), Kakching (5660), Chandel (1976), Noney (849), Tengnoupal (963), Jiribam (959), Kamjong (585) and Pherzawl (204).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (541), Imphal East (378), Thoubal (147), Churachan dpur (138), Kangpokpi (51), Tamenglong (12), Bishnupur (149), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (20) Kakching (95), Chandel (30), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (10), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 32,428 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,752 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 3,55,233 tests per million population against the national average of 3,37,914 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 5476 samples were tested and the single day pos-itivity rate was 13.75 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 9.13 per cent.
