MASTEC to organise training workshop / nature camps

Imphal, March 17 2023: Training workshop cum Nature Camps on Understanding Dynamics of Nature and Climate Change for the children of three districts namely Imphal West, Churachandpur and Bishnupur will be organised.

The training workshop cum nature camps will be organised by the Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) and Vigyan Prasar, New Delhi in association with the schools - Khuman Maheikol, Mayang Imphal; Bethany Christian Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur and Modern Higher Secondary School, Bishnupur, said a notification by the MASTEC Director.

For Imphal West, the training will be held at Khuman Maheikol, Mayang Imphal from March 28-30 while it will be held at Bethany Christian Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur district from April 4-6 and for Bishnupur district, it will be held at Modern Higher Secondary School from April 10-12 .

The main objective of these training workshops cum camps is to educate the children about the nature for enhancing their curiosity about the things around them and to guide them in exploring the environment by themselves.

During these workshops, resource persons will educate the children about nature through various activities like lecture and interaction, games, field visits, field experiments, sample collection and its observation using low cost equipment.

Interested schools from the districts concerned may nominate five students from class VII-X to the Director, Manipur Science and Technology Council, Imphal, e- mail ID mastec@nic.in or to the Principals of the above schools.

Contact numbers of the Head Master/Teacher in charge of the participating schools may be provided for further communications, added the notification.
