Mobile computer training launched at Namdunlong

Imphal, July 06 2015 : The third mobile computer training centre organized by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal in association with Namdunlong Youth Club, Imphal was today launched at the premises of the club at Namdunlong.

Director of Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC) Th Surendranath attended the function as the chief guest while director of NIELIT, Th Prameshwor was the functional president.

Joint Director of NIELIT T Gunindro and village chief (khullak) of Namdunlong, Gaibiching Pamei were the guests of honour.

The mobile computer training centre will impart computer knowledge to residents of Namdunlong.

Irrespective of age, 80 students have already signed up for the computer course which is scheduled to continue for six months, stated an official of NIELIT.

Course on Computer Concepts (CCC) and Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) are offered in the mobile computer training centre as part of the Digital India Week which was launched by the Prime Minister of India on July 1 .

The first edition of the training programme under NIELIT was held at Langthabal, the official added.

Speaking at the occasion, Th Surendranath said, "in this digital world, we need to update ourselves with computer knowledge or we will be left behind.

In this world, we need to be aware digitally" .

He applauded the initiative taken up by NIELIT in taking such computer courses to the doorsteps of the people and urged to organize or plan such training programme in other parts of the State too.

Stressing the need to impart computer education to all sections of the society, Th Prameshwor stated that an educated man with no computer knowledge is regarded as an uneducated one in today's world.

Village chief (khullak) Gaibiching Pamei expressed his gratitude to the officials of NIELIT for holding such training in the area.
