Flag hoisting ceremonies

Election Campaign Committee, Singjamei AC All India Trinamool Congress has organised a flag hoisting programme of Trinamool Congress candidate from Singjamei AC Heikrujam Nabashyam at Singjamei Chirom Leikai community hall today.
At the function, Nabashyam urged the gathering to extend their support and build a peaceful and developed society.
Flag hoisting programme of NPP candidate from Sagolband AC Gurumayum Satyabati was also held today at Wanhangbam Leikai community hall.
The programme was also attended by NPP Manipur State Unit president Thangminlien Kipgen, left Democratic Front and State convenor Dr M Nara Singh, NPP National general secretary Vivek Raj Wangkhem and NPP Manipur State Unit executive member Chungkham Bijoy as presidium members.
Speaking at the programme, candidate Gurumayum Satyabati urged to vote for NPP in order to serve the people in better ways.
Satyabati also promised to provide improved drainage system, better road connectivity and regular supply of potable water if she is elected.
Though National political parties have formed Government in Manipur for years, there is no sign of any growth and development, said North East India Development Party (NEIDP) president Narengbam Samarjit during the flag hoisting programme of NEIDP candidate Saikul AC Doukhomang Khongsai held yesterday at Khongsai Veng, Imphal.
Samarjit said, "Actions of the other political parties show that they do not think for the welfare of the people of Manipur." NEIDP is a party that wishes to uphold peace and harmony among the people belonging to different communities.
Doukhomang Khongsai said that development can take place if there is understanding among the people.
Doukhomang Khongsai also assured to give emphasis on youth who are the pillars of the Nation.
Flag hoisting of NPP candidate for 41-Chandel AC Letpao Haokip was held yesterday at Sugnu Tribal.
The function formally kicked off the campaign for Letpao Haokip.
A sub-committee to oversee and spearhead the campaign in 5 areas in the AC was also formed.
NPP president Thangminlien Kipgen hoisted the party flag in the presence of the other party workers.
The function was attended by people from all walks of life.
Representatives from different communities in Chandel district, village chiefs, and leaders of CSOs were among the people who came out to pledge their support for the NPP candidate.
Thangminlien Kipgen expressed hope that the election of Letpao Haokip would usher in an era of peace and development which, according to him, has eluded the people and area for so long.
Apart from the party manifesto, agenda of Letpao Haokip who is contesting the election for the first time included all weathered roads, better connectivity for every village and alleviating the plights of the poor, deprived and the widows.
He said that he is committed to protect and defend the rights of the people and their lands.
The NPP candidate also expressed his hope of winning the election as a candidate of the masses, he added.
