LYCC, YOSC, NISA pick up full points as MPSC, SFC play out draw

LYCC, YOSC and NISA triumphed in their respective matches as MPSC and SFC shared the spoils in the 16th Manipur State League 2023-24 on Thursday.
LYCC pulled off an up set against NEROCA FC as Chanambam Ronald Singh scored a brace to help the Liwachangning side run out 5-2 winners in their Group A encounter at DSA Ground, Kakching.
LYCC started with a bang with Ng Bedeenpar Moyon scoring just two minutes from kickoff.
However, the celebration was short-lived as NEROCA turned things around, overturning the score inside 20 minutes.
Gaidimlung Kamei Singh cut the deficit into half for the Chingmeirong squad with a sublime finish in the 23rd minute before fellow Laishram Suraj Singh's 40th minute strike gave them the upper hand, heading into the second half.
After break, LYCC showed their mettle to rain goals on their opponents as Naoroibam Romen Singh converted in the 51st minute and put them on level terms.
Chanambam Ronald Singh then LYCC them the lead in the 60th minute and he went on to score his second and LYCC's fourth goal in the 83rd minute before Lael Shongsir Monsang made it 5-2 in the fifth minute of injury time for their victory.
YOSC, meanwhile, struck in both halves to ease past RUC 2-0 in a Group B match played at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Yumnam Harison found the opener in the 34th minute and Keithelakpam Ibotomba scored their second goal in the 69th minute to close out the game NISA struggled past NACO 1-0 in another Group B match at the Artificial Turf Ground.
Sharangthem Rajanikanta rose to the contest for his team, scoring the decider in the 68th minute.
MPSC were held to a 1-1 draw by SFC in their Group A meeting at DSA Ground, Kakching.
Thangjam Kiran Singh gave MPSC an early lead in the 7th minute, but SFC clawed their way back into the game with a 34th-minute equaliser by Sanasam Ranbir Singh, resulting in the two teams settling for a point each.
