SDC, SWYC emerge victorious in 1st SDAU Trophy

Imphal, June 01 2018: SDC, Samurou posted 2-1 victory over Wangjing United while SWYC had an easy win over RPU by 6-3 goals in today's league matches of the ongoing SDAU Trophy 2018 which got underway from May 25 under the aegis of SDAU, Tekcham.

In the first match, SDC had a close win over Wangjing United by 2-1 goals in an evenly contested match.

Kh Sanjoy and N Roshan were the successful goal scorer for SDC while S Waba was the lone goal scorer for Wangjing United.

Both the team started on a cautious note concentrating the play mostly on their sides.

However, Kh Sanjoy seized an opportunity in the 20th minute where he was found unmarked near the box of the goalmouth and slotted in the ball comfortably to give SDC 1-0 lead.

N Roshan netted another goal one minute later to consolidate the lead to 2-0.Meanwhile, Wangjing United tried hard in the dying minute and were successful in finding the back of the net through S Waba in the 25th minute to reduce the scoreline to 1-2 but their late surge were not enough to stop SDC sealed the match by 2-1 goals.

In the second match, SWYC prevailed over RPU with their dominating performances in the field wrapping up the match by a massive 6-3 goals.

SWYC started playing aggressively from the beginning riding on stellar performances from A Sushil (12', 35', 37', 41') who was banged on target scoring 4 goals while Newton (26') and Juremba (51') added one goal each.

N James (42', 46') scored two goals for RPU while Sanajaoba (45') contributed one goal.
