MU Inter College Volleyball Tournament : Stage set for men and women's semi-finals

Imphal, October 23 2024: The semi-final line up of both the men and women's competitions of the ongoing O Ibetombi Memorial MU Inter College Volleyball Tournament were completed today.

Mayai Lambi College will play Nambol L Sanoi College in the men's first semi-final match tomorrow from 10 am before Thambal Marik College face Imphal College from 11 am in the second semi-final match.

Mayai Lambi College made it to the semi-finals with a 25-20, 25-16, 25-17 win over Kamakhya Pemton College today.

Nambol L Sanoi College in the meantime pulled off a 25-13, 25-15, 25-21 win over Manipur University in a first round encounter this morning before defeating Don Bosco College, Maram by 3-2 sets in the quarterfinal match.

It was a see-saw affair between Nambol L Sanoi College and the Maram side as the first team conceded the second and the fourth sets before emerging victorious in the deciding fifth set to seal the game 25-17, 24-26, 25-18, 22-25, 15-11 .

Hosts Thambal Marik College meanwhile booked their place in the semi-final with an easy 25-12, 25-14, 25-15 win over Maharaj Bodhchandra College this afternoon.

Later in the women's competition, Don Bosco College, Maram edged out United College, Chandel by 3-1 sets (25-10, 14-25, 25-12, 25-18) to complete the semi-final line up.

Earlier in the day, United College defeated Manipur University 25-11, 25-8, 25-12 to set up a quarter-final date with Don Bosco College, Maram.

Don Bosco College will now play Nambol L Sanoi College tomorrow in the first semi-final match from 9 am before Standard College play Modern College from 10 am in the second semi-final match.
