Imphal, October 21 2026: In view of the prevailing tense situation in the State, Athokpam Meira Paibi ApunbaLup (AMPAL) has urged all to refrain from carrying out all forms of festivities within the jurisdiction of AMPAL .

The resolution was taken during an emergency meeting of AMPAL held at its office at Athokpam Keithel yesterday.

Speaking in connection with the meeting, AMPAL advisor Yumnam Bimola strongly condemned the Nongshum killing and urged the Government to take up immediate and stem measures to curb the violence and restore peace and normalcy in the State.

Expressing dismay over the recent violent incident at Khangabok during a musical event on October 18, she sought the attention of all to seek justice and appealed for peace.

Considering the tense and vulnerable situation, she appealed to all not to conduct any form of festivities or musical events within the jurisdiction of AMPAL.

Athokpam Meira Paibi Apunba Lup urges the public to strictly follow the directives and not to indulge in any form of festivities considering the ongoing tense situation in the State.
