Bishnupur, October 21 2026:
United Development Committee (UDC), an apex body of organisations in Ngaikhong Gram Panchayat (GP) has declared a boycott of the BJP led State Government and banned the entry of BJP leaders and members of its allied parties into areas within the jurisdiction of Ngaikhong GP with immediate effect.
UDC president Nongmaithem Bishwarup declared the boycott and ban while speaking at the protest demonstration carried out yesterday night at Ngaikhong Khullen Bazar under Bishnupur Police Station against the Nongshum killings.
He stated that the resolution of boycott and ban has been taken in view of the utter failure of the BJP led State Government to resolve the prolonged Manipur crisis and to curb the atrocities of the Kuki militants towards the indigenous people of the State.
He stressed that 'the State Government has failed to protect the lives and property of the indigenous people of Manipur and is acting like a puppet as per the directives of the Central Government'.
If this trend continues, the future of Manipur is at great risk, he said.
The protestors demanded abrogation of Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Kuki narco-terrorists, protection of indigenous people and resignation of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Home Minister who have failed to maintain law and order.
During the protest carried out by UDC, ACCC, Khunai Semgat Lup, Ngaikhong Khullen Ngaikhong Siphai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Ngaikhong GP in coordination with the local clubs and organisations, slogans against the Nongshum killings were shouted.
