U17 Boys' Subroto Cup : Manipur romp 4-0 past Telangana for second win on trot

Imphal, September 16 2026: Manipur registered their second Pool E win on the trot in the 65th Subroto Cup for U17 boys by handing Telangana a 4-0 defeat this morning at Tejas Football Ground (TFG) in New Delhi.

Fresh off from a 15-0 demolition of Rashtriya Military School (RMS), Dholpur, Rajasthan, Manipur produced another dominating display and rode on doubles from Pamheiba and Thoungamba to seal the 4-0 win for Manipur against Telangana today.

Pamheiba opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Thoungamba doubled the advantage in the 15th minute.

Pamheiba piled further pressure on Telangana by scoring his second in the 30th minute to make 3-0 .

Manipur continued to press hard despite the lead and raced to a 4-0 lead in the 41st minute with Thoungamba scoring his second.

Manipur then sit back on their commanding lead as Telangana kept struggling to break through their rivals' defence till the final whistle.

Manipur will play Tripura tomorrow at the same venue.

The match starts at 6.30 am .

39 teams clubbed into 8 pools are participating in the tournament and the table toppers will advance to the knock-out round.
