Wins for Yaisa FC, Saruk FC in 9-a-side football tourney

Imphal, August 31 2024: Yaisa FC and Saruk FC emerged victorious in the 3rd Paona Memorial 9-a-side Football Tournament 2024 at EEO Ground, Lamding on Saturday.

Yaisa FC started the day with a convincing 3-1 win over Lamlai FC.

Lamlai took the initiative, breaking through Yaisa's defence to take a 1-0 lead courtesy of Sanathoi.

Yaisa bounced back with an 18th-minute equaliser from Arnold before Raju (26, 49) scored twice and put his side out of reach of their opponents.

Saruk FC, meanwhile, edged past Anas FC 2-1 in the second match.

Feroz put Saruk ahead in the 27th minute, with Nur Sarif extending the lead in the 38th minute.

Anas FC narrowed the gap in the 42nd minute through Marguf but were unable to make further progress in the remaining minutes.

The third match between PUBG United and Moreh FC ended in a goalless draw.
