64th National School Games in Taekwondo gets underway

Imphal, November 26 2018:
The 64th National School Games in Taekwondo for U-14 boys and girls hoisted by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports under the auspices of School Games Federation of India commenced today at Taekwondo Training Hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
The competition was formally inaugurated in the presence of Chief Secretary, Dr J Suresh Babu-IAS; Jacintha Lazarus, IAS, Water Resource Department; Kh Pramoda Devi, Joint Director Youth Affairs and Sports; and RK Parihar, Observer, School Games Federation of India as presidium members.
The event will be witnessing 512 players from across various States and Union Territories of the country compete for top honours.
Manipur's A Dayashree administered the oath taking on behalf of all taekwondo players while chief guest of the opening ceremony, Dr J Suresh received the salute of march past by contingents from different States and Union Territories.
The competition will start from 8 am tomorrow.
