Students bodies demand ultimate solution to controversial transfer and posting of lecturers

The three students� bodies of Jiribam - AMSU, District Committee, Jiribam; MSF, District Committee, Jiribam and DESAM, District Council, Jiribam in a joint statement demanded for an ultimate solution regarding the controversies around transfer and posting of lecturers of Jiribam Higher Secondary School and Borobekra Higher Secondary School.
In a joint press meet held today at AMSU office, Jiribam, Y Sanjiv Singh, President, AMSU, District Committee, Jiribam stated that a memorandum regarding the controversy on the transfer and posting of History and Manipuri lecturers of Jiribam Higher Secondary School was submitted addressing Education Minister of Manipur and discussed the controversial matter with Director Education (S) as well to bring a solution at the earliest in the larger interest of the students.
During the discussion, the concerned authorities have also given a positive response, added Sanjiv.
However, their assurance has not been translated into actions till date, he lamented and added that the students suffered due to series of problems as a fallout of the controversy.
He said that AMSU, MSF and DESAM of Jiribam district strongly condemned the double standard of the authority concerned which has failed to deliver their promises while cautioning that various forms of agitation will be initiated if the authority concerned fails to fulfill their demands mentioned in the memorandum.
President DESAM, District Council, Jiribam Bilaks Meitei said the students bodies had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and Education Minister on October 8 about the mistimed transfer and posting of teachers which has created lots of disruption in the academic career of the students but the authority concerned has not acted on their assurance till date and appealed the authorities to bring a concrete solution at the earliest.
Atom Rajiv Meetei, President of MSF, District Committee, Jiribam expressed disappointment on the part of the State Govt for not translating their assurance into action even after a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister and Education Minister.
He also cautioned that the Govt will be held responsible of any consequences resulting from the agitation taken up by students' bodies in the coming days.
