FootGal 2019: HoMES FA advance to QFs

CCpur, October 13 2019: HoMES FA became the second team to cruise into the round of eight after Lenlai Club as they eased past Khominthang Youth Club by a slender margin of 2 goals to one in last night's fourth match of the ongoing FootGal 2019 organised by District Administration, Churachandpur at Rayburn High School campus here courtesy a goal by Laishram Rejiya in both halves of the match.

One of the big title contenders HoMES FA were in command of the match as they started positively and attacked from the word go.

HoMES grew into the game and threatened their rivals' backline.

However, they could not find the much needed lead although creating enough chances.

HoMES FA found the breakthrough in the 19th minute when Laishram Rejiya whipped in a cross that caught out their rivals' custodian.

Rejiya again found the back of the net in the 33 rd minute.

Khominthang YC gave back a spirited fight and within a span of three minutes after the second goal, Ngainu booted home one to reduce the margin.

Lenlai Club were the first to book their QFs berth after being awarded a match forfeiture point (3-0) when their opponents The Good Guys staged a walkout.

In last night's last match, KV Churachandpur coasted a convincing 2-0 victory against St Stephen High School.

Meanwhile, Pehlum Lawm FA and SVEEP 18 + were eliminated from the pool A while Koinonia FC from Pool B and Sursa Athletic Club from Pool C were out of the race.

At the same time, Pool E's GNM Training School and The Good Guys' hope of moving to the next round were dashed.

Chelsea FC of Pool F; FC Miljoulou and Khominthang YC of Pool G faced elimination.

Last Pool A clash between Sunshine Angels and Lamka Sports Club on Monday would be a crucial one as it will decide which team advances to the next round.

Another decisive match tomorrow would be between Rayburn FC and APR FC while the clash between Lalpuithluai FS FC and Victor Rest Farm FC will be another interesting business.
