YPC cricket tournament begins

Under the sponsorship of Sonalika International Tractors, Konung Mamang Pureiromba Leikai, Imphal East, the 5th Bikram Memorial State Level YPC Cup Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament-2015 began from Saturday at the Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai ground of Young Progressive Club (YPC) .
The inaugural function of the tournament which is being organised by YPC with participation by 20 teams was attended by Oinam Lukhoi Singh, MLA of Wangoii A/C as chief guest and Yumnam Nabachandra Singh, chairperson of Thongkhong Luxmi Nagar Panchayat as functional president.
Okram Ibopishak Singh, councillor Ward no.5, Thongkhong Luxmi Nagar Panchayat; Yumnam Mani Singh, Chairperson of Rangini Memorial Charitable Clinic and Longjam Ratankumar Singh, Treasury Officer, Wangoi (MPSC) were also present on the occasion as guests of honour.
The opening match of the tournament was played between Tamoyai Langthabal and Baji Kwakeithel in which the former defeated the latter by 3 runs.
Tamoyai elected to first after winning the toss and secured 169 runs with 5 wickets down from 15 overs.
But Baji could collect only 166 runs with 6 wickets down from 15 overs.
Bihun of Tamoyai who batted 128 runs from 48 balls was declared man of the match.
On Sunday, Chandranadi 11 would play Maba Pologround at 1 pm.
