Thoubal, January 31 2015 :
Amid rising cases of dog-bites and mass anti-rabies vaccination drive in the State, Yairipok Veterinary Hospital has allegedly charged 50 rupees per vaccination, reports our correspondent.
It has been reported earlier that the anti-rabies vaccination could be chargeable upto 50 rupees.
However, as per the State Cabinet decision taken on January 19, State's veterinary directors and health directors had informed that the vaccination should be conducted free of cost.
Some locals have claimed that Yairipok Veterinary Hospital has charged 50 rupees each for the anti-rabies vaccination.
Locals have also complained that the vaccination drive was conducted in a place everyone was not familiar with and without collaborating with the local club and organisation.
On the other hand, around 100 dogs were administered free anti-rabies vaccination during a drive organised by Dr Helim, joint director, district veterinary officer Thoubal and Sangaiyumpham Veterinary Dispensary at Sangaiyumpham part II community hall today.
