NEROCA FC, ZFC nin in 10th MSL

Imphal, October 22 2015: NEROCA FC, Sangakpham registered a comprehensive 5-0 win against USA, Khurai while Zomi FC, Churachandpur edged past MPSC by a margin of one goal to nil in the ongoing 10th Manipur State League sponsored by Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust today at Mapal Kangjeibung.

League leader NEROCA FC players left no stone unturned to maintain its position in the league table.

Besides enjoying most of the possession right from the start of the match, the NEROCA FC strikers made successive attempts to open their goal account.

Undaunted by the attacks, the USA players put up a strong defence.

However, the NEROCA FC opened their account through a goal from Ng Ronald in the 28th minute.

Soon after, Ng Ronald again converted a penalty kick in the 36th minute.

NEROCA's Johnson banged in another goal in the 45th minute.

The USA players, bouncing back with fresh vigour, became more aggressive after the breather.

Although they found several chances to score the goal, they failed to convert them.

The spirited NEROCA FC upped their ante too and made counter attacks.

A brace from Satish in the 84th and 87 th minute helped NEROCA FC win the match by a margin of five goals to nil.

In the second match today, Zomi FC, Churachandpur downed MPSC 1-0 .

The match was crucial as both the teams have been struggling to move out of the relegation zone.

Although both the teams made attempts to lead the score-line, their efforts went abegging and the first half of the match ended with a goalless draw.

The deadlock was broken when Letminthang of ZFC netted a brilliant goal in the 82nd minute.

The Police players' made several futile efforts to level the score-line.
