Al-Ameen, RCA emerge victorious in Tbl T-20 Cricket Tourney

Imphal, April 05 2021: Al-Ameen and RCA posted victories in today's matches of the Thoubal District T-20 League Cum Knock-Out Cricket Tournament being underway at Moijing Playground, Thoubal.

In the fourth match of the tournament, Al-Ameen got the better of WYC by 8 wickets as Bashir hit an unbeaten half century in the chase after WYC won the toss and elected to bat first.

The WYC's innings saw Manorjit topscore with 30 to help his team gather a total of 121 runs for 9 in two overs after opening batsmen faltered on meagre score.

Hero Kumar also added 21 runs to the team's tally before the remaining order fell easy prey to Al Ameen bowlers.

Bashir, Akram, Nashir, Mustaq and Naushad all got a wicket each in this innings before Bashir produced a scintillating batting display by striking 41 ball 54 and remained not out with Nawaj (33) to guide Al-Ameen to an 8 wicket win.

Mangi and Lakshman of WYC earned a wicket each in this innings.

The man of the match award eventually went to Bashir of Al-Ameen.

Meanwhile in the 5th match of the tournament, RCA carved out a slender 1 wicket win against CAL.

CAL chose to bat first and amassed 138 for 10 in 18 overs and RCA fought hard to reach 142 for 9 in 19.4 overs and secure the win.

Rohit emerged the highest run getter for CAL in their innings with a total of 138 runs in his name as Nanao of RCA wreaked havoc en route to his 4 wicket haul by conceding 16 runs in 3 overs.

The innings also saw Saba Khan, Parvesh and Iliyash chip in with a wicket apiece.

In reply, RCA had a stuttering start but sensible battings by Sharoj (44) and Aslam (42) helped steer the team past the target with only two balls and one wicket left to spare.

Nanao of RCA who scalped four wickets was adjudged man of the match.

WYC will play RCA tomorrow in the morning before CAL take on Al-Ameen in the evening.
