AR won 22nd National Archery Champs

Imphal, October 18 2014 :
The Assam Rifles has again proved their mettle in field of sports when its archers stood first in Indian Round of 22nd National Archery Championship being conducted at Jawahar Lal National Stadium, New Delhi since 12 Oct 2014.The team achieved this laurel after defeating 37 other teams.
While Rifleman M Sunder Singh achieved gold medal in elimination round, Rifleman H Bijendranath Singh won silver medal.

In 50M event, Rifleman H Bijendranath Singh won silver medal, missing the first position by a narrow margin.
In the Olympic Round Assam Rifles Archery Team won Team Gold Medal and was bestowed with a total of two gold medals and two silver medals in both individual and group events.
Lt Gen R K Rana, SM, VSM, DG AR, Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra, IG AR (South) and Brig V T Mathew, Commander 9 Sector Assam Rifles besides the other dignitaries congratulated Assam Rifles Archery Team for their grand success and wished them all the best for all future events.
