Will Manipur Govt do it for development of cinema?

The government of Manipur has received an offer from the Directorate General Doordarshan for screening of award winning Manipuri films in New Delhi to showcase the rich tradition and culture of the state.
With a little enthusiasm, Manipur may well take the offer in the interest of development of cinema in the state.
In a letter dated September 24 last, Deputy Director General of Doordarshan B.Venkata Rao asked the Resident Commissioner of Manipur Government at New Delhi to organize a Manipuri language film festival in any auditorium in the capital.
Subsequently, Manipur Bhavan, New Delhi wrote a letter (bearing no.MB/17/RC/2014 dated the 15th October 2014) to the Principal Secretary (IPR), Government of Manipur for appropriate action.
However, no response from the state government has been seen till date.
According to the letter, the Doordarshan is ready to offer award winning Manipuri language and other language films from this slot for screening at any auditorium jointly with Government of Manipur.
Film tapes can be provided for the purpose.
This initiative would enable people to watch some great of the genius mind, it said.
It may be mentioned that the Government of West Bengal in collaboration with Doordarshan organized the "Best of Indian Cinema-Bengal Film Festival" from September 6 to 7 last month at Bangla Bhavan, New Delhi and showcased six award winning films from Bengal.
All six shows were houseful and the initiative was highly welcomed by the film circles.
