State Level Weightlifting : TCMDC claim women's team crown, SAI-Utlou emerge men's champions

Imphal, August 14 2019: TCMDC and SAI-Utlou were respectively crowned as women's and men's team champions at the 21st Youth, 22nd Youth and 23rd Senior State Level Weightlifting Championship organised by Manipur Weightlifting Association at SAI-Utlou Indoor Stadium.

The players and team champions were feted during the closing ceremony which was graced by GA Ibopishak Sharma, senior vice president, Manipur Olympic Association; Th Joykumar Singh, vice president Manipur Olympic Association; K Baruni Singh, vice president Manipur Olympic Association, Ng Rastrapati, president Manipur Weight-lifting Association and M Lokendra Singh, working president Manipur Weight-lifting Association as dignitaries.

IKYC's L Chinglenmani and TCMDC's H Jivarani were also adjudged men's and women's best lifters respectively and were honoured trophies and cash prizes of Rs 3,000 each donated by many enthusiasts.

Women's team champions, TCMDC received a trophy and cash prize of Rs 5,000 while men's team champions SAI-Utlou were feted with trophy and a cash prize of Rs 4,000.Women's team runners up also encouraged with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 4,000 .

Last day events
L Chinglenmani of IKYC claimed the senior men's 61 kg category gold as he lifted a total of 247 kg, 108 in snatch and 139 kg in clean and jerk while Y Surchandra of PRSC won the 67 kg junior title by lifting 230 kg including 95 kg in snatch and 135 kg in clean and jerk.

RK Sanamacha of PRSC on the other hand claimed the 61 kg youth men's title as he managed 72 kg in snatch and 81 kg in clean and jerk and stay ahead of S Shitaljit of TDWA (65 kg in snatch and 80 kg in clean and jerk) and HL Easterson of YDC (58 kg in snatch and 83 kg in clean and jerk).

In the youth's 67 kg competition, W Olen off SAI-Utlou made the best lift of 220 kg (100 kg in snatch and 120 kg in clean and jerk).

Robinson Yumlembam of YDC (62 kg in snatch and 85 kg in clean and jerk) won the silver and Y Ashish of KMYA (64 kg in snatch and 75 kg in clean and jerk) bagged the bronze medal.

TDWA's S Arbind Singh clinched the 81 kg senior men's title with a total lift of 300 kg (130 kg in snatch and 170 kg in clean and jerk) while 81 kg youth title went to SAI-Imphal's O Sayananda who lifted 81 kg in snatch and 100 kg in clean and jerk to put an a total effort of 181 kg.

O Bikash KMYC on the other hand claimed the 81 kg youth men's title with a total effort of 230 kg (105 kg in snatch and 125 kg in clean and jerk) .

H Sanjit of SAI-IMPHAL managed two medals, bronze in the 73 kg youth category and gold in the Junior category as he managed 80 kg in snatch and 105 kg in clean and jerk.

Youth men's 73 kg event gold went to Kh Narendra of SAI-Utlou who lifted a total 105 kg in snatch and 137 kg in clean and jerk while T Robert Meitei of NSA bagged bronze medal lifting 111 kg in snatch and 130 kg in clean and jerk.

Senior Men's 73 kg event gold was fetched by N Samson Singh of IKYC after his 199 kg feat (88 kg in snatch and 111 kg in clean and jerk).

AK Nanaobi Singh of YCUAL won the 96 kg senior men's gold as he lifted 255 kg including 115 kg in snatch and 140 kg in clean and jerk while Ch Rahul Singh earned the 86 kg youth men's gold by lifting 232 kg (101 kg in snatch and 131 kg in clean and jerk) Youth men's 96 kg title went to H Bikash Meitei of SAI-Imphal who managed 89 kg in snatch and 105 kg in clean and jerk and T Rohit of PRSC sealed the silver medal for his 175 kg lift (75 kg in snatch and 100 kg in clean and jerk).

RK Devadutta of YDC on the other hand claimed the 89 kg junior men's gold with a total effort of 240 kg (105 kg in snatch and 135 kg in clean and jerk) while N Tyson Singh who managed 82 kg in snatch and 95 kg in clean and jerk won the silver medal.

K Roshilata Devi of SAI-COE/I was able to fetch both the senior and junior women's gold in the 71 kg category while W Sapana Devi of SAI-Utlou won the 71 kg youth women's gold with 175 kg effort (75 kg in snatch and 100 kg in clean and jerk).

S Chaoba Chanu of IKYC (67 kg in snatch and 80 kg in clean and jerk) bagged the 71 kg youth women's silver medal while Th Mayapati Chanu of YDC (50 kg in snatch and 65 kg in clean and jerk) bagged the bronze medals.

A Tumina Devi of SAI-Imphal who managed 80 kg in snatch and 103 kg in clean and jerk bagged both the gold medal for 76 kg junior and senior categories while W Anjali of TDWA won the 76 kg youth women's gold with 146 kg lift (64kg in snatch and 82 kg in clean and jerk).

A Anju Devi of PRSC who managed 178 kg (80 kg in snatch and 98 kg in clean and jerk) won the 76 kg junior women's silver medal.

M Martina Devi of SAI-Utlou won the 81+ youth women's gold with a 138 kg lift (60 kg in snatch and 78 kg in clean and jerk) and P Sanathoi Devi of PRSC won the 81 kg junior women's gold with 155 kg lift (70 kg in snatch and 85 kg in clean and jerk) .
