Imphal, January 13 2023: Angom Robinhood blazed off a half century and clinched three wickets to hand NCA-Ningthoukhong fourth straight victory in 7th MNCA Plate Tournament Group B competition.

With Robinhood leading in both the front, NCA defeated SSU-Singjamei Kakwa by 55 runs after posting a total of 188 runs in 32 overs at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College ground.

NCA who won the toss and opted to bat first strongly with Moirangthem Kamarachand (31) and Roshan Konthoujam (8) adding 40 runs for the first wicket before Sougrakpam Douglas undone Kamarachand in the end of the 7th over.

Roshan then got trapped lbw by Dingku G for the second wicket before N Sidarth (49 off 46 balls, 8x4) and Angom Robinhood (51 off 50 balls, 8x4) forged a 104 run partnership for the third wicket.

With Sougrakpam Douglas removing Robinhood in 21.4 overs, NCA were 145 for 3 and it was a turning point for the team as wickets kept falling with SSU bowlers Douglas and Saikhomba Thongba pairing up well to trouble NCA batters with their pace and length and ended the innings at 188 in 32 overs.

Douglas returned with the best bowling figures of 4/24 in 8 overs while Dingku G (2/26 in 7 overs) and Shamurailatpan Deepankar Sharma (2/40 in 7 overs) finished with two wickets each.

In the chase, SSU had a stuttering start and slipped to 25 for 3 after 7.3 overs with Chourjeet RK removing Anand for 5 and Sh Deepankar for 2 and opener Robertson getting caught and bowled by Sushil Moirangthem.

When Douglas (25) and Saikhomba Thongam (19) looked to revive the chase, Angom Robinhood removed both the batters to break the momentum and reduced the team to 80 for 5 after 18.1 overs.

Robinhood claimed his third wicket in the form of Sujeet L for 6 before Chourjeet RK struck two more wickets to leave SSU struggling at 102 for 8 .

After Jayananda P got run out, L Sadanananda removed Md Akip Hussan for 14 to put an end to the chase.
