Imphal, May 10 2019: ESU, Wangkhei beat SSC, Sekta 1-0 to post their third win and complete the semi-final line up of the ongoing 1st Sapam Tombi Singh Memorial Sub-Junior Girls Inter Club Football Tournament organised by All Manipur Football Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.

ESU with 3 wins and 1 loss finished group A runners as ICSA, Irengbam top the Group and will be looking for a big in the semi-final.

ESU and SSC took off the game cautiously as winners would cruise into semi-final and deny one another from having the lead till G Premita broke the deadlock in the 24th minute of the match to hand ESU a 1-0 lead till the break.

The second half saw SSC toil hard to draw level while ESU concentrated more in defending their hard earned lead and attack mainly in counter.

Both teams failed to make the most of the attacking chances leaving the scoreline unchanged till the final whistle favouring ESU to move ahead.

Elsewhere, THAU, Thangmeiband clinched a 2-0 win against KRYPHSA, Naoremthong in a dead rubber match.

Both teams failed to get on the board in the first half but THAU, Thangmeiband gained further ground towards the hour mark and found the opener through A Nanao in the 54th minute before M Nandeshwori hit the team's second and the last goal at the stroke of one hour to make it 2-0 at the end.
