Imphal, July 31 2026: Pangambam Nebison of Thoubal sealed the title of the U17 Boys -80 kg category in the State Level Boxing Championships being underway at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

In the final bout, Pangambam Nebison produced a dominating performance that his rival Dijendra Ayekpam of Imphal East had to abandon the bout.

The U17 Boys' -75 kg category title went to Imphal West's Khamnam Rojesh Singh who got the better of Imphal East's Ngashekpam Samson 3-2 via split decision.

Imphal East's Pheiroijam Bigson also registered a similar win over Kakching's Leimapokpam Mahesh to seal the -70 kg category title.

Khundom Lanchenba of Imphal East also registered a 3-2 win via split decision against Y Abinash of Kakching in the U17 Boys' -66 kg title clash as the -63 kg category title went to Chandel's Karung Albertson Kom who pulled off a 4-1 win over Bishnupur's Bidyachandra Oinam.

The -60 kg category title meanwhile went to Kharibam Leishemba of Imphal East without breaking any sweat as he got a walkover after Gershom Awungshi of Ukhrul beat Imphal West's Nelson Khwarakpam 4-1 for the -57 kg category title.

Earlier, Gurumayum Jackson of Imphal West won the -54 kg category title by defeating Bishnupur's N Nikhel 4-1; Yangambam Srinivash of Thoubal overwhelmed Kakching's Moibungkhongbam Lanchenba 5-0 for the -52 kg category title; Usham Thouna Luwang prevailed 5-0 over Imphal West's G Maiken for the -50 kg title; Oinam Rajesh of Bishnupur thumped Fajaba Naorem of Imphal West 5-0 for the -48 kg category title; and M Renson of Kakching crushed Imphal East's N Robash 5-0 for the -46 kg category title.

Thoubal's Chesam Jayed wins U15 Boys' -70 kg category title

Chesam Jayed of Thoubal won the U15 Boys' -70 kg category gold medal with a walkover win over Imphal East's Wangmayum Absar today.

The -67 kg category competition also concluded without a fight as Oinam Rahul of Bishnupur got a walkover win over Imphal East's N Mangan in the final.

The -64 kg category title meanwhile went to Lukram Lilmani of Imphal East who was stopped by the referee in the second round following a commanding performance against Imphal East's Ch Yoihenba.

Thoubal's Rajkumar also shone bright to beat Imphal East's Irom Biswas 4-1 and sealed the -61 kg category title as Wangkheirakpam Mahesh sealed the -58 kg category gold by defeating L Rohit of Imphal West 3-2 via split decision.

Imphal West's Nahakpam Lamnganba on the other hand bagged the -55 kg category title by beating K Benjamin of Thoubal 5-0 via unanimous decision after Newton Gurumayum of Imphal West crushed T Bidyananda of Bishnupur 4-1 for the -52 kg category title.

U15 Boys

The day also saw completion of semi-final bouts for U-15 Boys across 7 weight categories.

In the -40 kg category semi-final bouts, Laishram Alex of Imphal West prevailed 5-0 over Mairembam Ramananda of Bishnupur and Thoubal's Tarun Soibam beat Chandel's Sayonba Khaidem.

The -43 kg category final will see Thounaojam Bulhan of Kakching take on Nganthoiba Yengkhom of Imphal West.

Bulhan entered the final with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Bishnupur's L Punshiba before Ngathoiba beat Raymond Chiru of Senapati 4-1 .

In the meantime, Imphal West's Huidrom Malem set up the -46 kg category final date with Kakching's Soibam Tarun.

Malem edged out Yangsangmi HS of Ukhrul 3-2 after Tarun notched up a 4-1 win over Md Aslam Khan of Thoubal.

The -49 kg category final on the other hand will see Kakching's Soibam Tarunjit, who outlasted Ukhrul's M Ringphapam, play Chandel SertoNeikhupreng Kom, who edged out Imphal East's Tensubam Philips 4-1 in the other semi-final match.

The day also saw Toijam Bhumabati Chanu of Imphal East seal a walkover win over Maibam Rosemary Chanu of Bishnupur to reach the Elite Women's -51 kg category final as Ukhrul's Themjui Sharon crushed Kh Zenith of Imphal West 5-0 to enter U15 Boys' -33 kg final and Athokpam Inunganba of Imphal West beat Bishnupur's Soibam Rivash via RSC in the second round to book his ticket in the U15 Boys' -37 kg category final.
