Imphal, May 26 2023: Assam Rifles organ-ised safe transport of stranded people from New Lambulane area in Imphal West district to Kangpokpi district on Thursday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), on receipt of distress calls from tribal people stranded at New Lambulane, a column under Major Krishna Pratap Singh of 4 Assam Rifles was despatched from Mantripukhri for the rescue and safe passage of the people around 11:30 pm.

A total of 23 people including 10 men, 11 women and 2 children were safely transported to Kangpokpi district, the PRO added.
