UPSC prelims to be held as scheduled

The civil service preliminary examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be held as scheduled on May 28 despite imposition of curfew on the day of the examination, informed Ma-nipur Public Service Com-mission (MPSC) secretary Nita Arambam.
Addressing media persons at the North AOC office of the MPSC on Friday, Nita said that all security arrange-ments for conducting the said examination have been made.
All the candidates and officials concerned can use their admit cards and re-lated documents with the examination as curfew pass if at all curfew is imposed on the day of the examination.
Informing that there will be 12 sub-centres in Imphal centre, Nita Arambam elab-orated that 9 of the sub-cen-tres in Imphal West will be at DM College of Arts, DM College of Commerce, TG Higher Secondary School, DM College of Science, GP Women's College, Manipur College, Oriental College and Examination Hall of MPSC-A and B.The remaining sub-cen-tres in Imphal East will be at Anand Singh Higher Sec-ondary Academy, CC Higher Secondary School and Ma-haraj Bodhchandra College.
Among the total 4051 can-didates who will be appear-ing in the examination from Manipur, 3351 will appear in the 12 sub-centres in Imphal and 700 at centres in Delhi, Assam and Mizoram, she stated.
Informing candidates to download their admit cards by Saturday, the secretary said that the examination will be held in two shifts (9:30 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 4:30pm).Gates of the centres will be closed at 9:20 am for morning shifts while for the evening shift it will be closed by 2:20 pm.
She also appealed all con-cerned not to obstruct the candidates coming to appear the examination.
Imphal West DCTh Kiran-kumar, who was also present during the media briefing, said that around 1000 can-didates from Imphal West will be appearing in the examination.
All help in connection with appearing the exam will be rendered.
For candidates from Ukhrul and Tamenglong, who have not yet downloaded their admit cards, will be provided the same on the day of ex-amination at the centre, he announced.
