Imphal, August 31: Authorities of 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector hosted a meeting with youths of remote villages under Tengnoupal sub-division on August 30 and apart from formation of a youth club and donation of sports items such as footballs, volleyballs and handballs also organised a football tournament, said PRO IGAR (S) in a release adding that this gesture of the paramilitary force evoked tremendous appreciation from the locals.

Meanwhile, to forge better and relationship with local population the 6 Assam Rifles organised a meeting with representatives of Chiefs' Association and ex-servicemen Association of Chakpikarong on August 30 during which various issues and problems faced by the locals were discussed.

All were assured that Assam Rifles will always come forward to extend its full support and cooperation to the people of the area, added the PRO's release.
