Imphal, August 31: Reacting to a news report published on August 23 issue about non-deployment of security at Govakot, Hangoipat and Thingaou for implementation of railway project, 2nd in-command-27 Bn CRPF Karma Bhutia clarified that one S/unit is detailed exclusively for security/protection of railway survey team.

Whenever the survey team went to carry out survey in Hangoipat, the unit escorted them.

Since the last survey conducted on May 16 this year, the survey team has not reported back at Hangoipat for carrying out further survey.

Moreover there has been no intimation for security cover of the team so far, stated a release issued by Karma Bhutia.

The S/unit have had been providing security to railway survey team at Hangoipat for the last two years, it added.
