Imphal, June 03 2017:
15 villages located along the Indo-Myanmar border under Chingai and Jessami sub-divisions have been severely affected by the incessant rainfall.
The condition has become worse after landslides occurred at different places along Ukhrul-Jessami road.
All the five rivers flowing through the area overflowed destorying all the paddy fields.
Three cultivators along with the temporary hut they were taking shelter in were also washed away at around 11.30 pm of May 5 .
Jessami sub-division Public Organisation has urged the authority concerned to extend necessary assistance at the earliest.
