Imphal, April 18 2009: Nupee Lal Memorial Association, Manipur has admitted that Thangjam Henry and Thounaojam Rabikanta were its genuine members.

The duo was arrested by police commandos from Paona Bazar on extortion charges along with Rs 1050 on April 16 .

However, a release issued by the Association, contended that the amount of Rs 1050 was donated by 14 shops towards construction of Nupee Lan Memorial complex including extension of a room for Nupee Lan Memorial Museum.
