Imphal, May 08 2009: Decrying the incident of bomb and firing attack at the Pukhao Laipham residence of one Okram Saratchandra (37) by unidentified armed persons, people of the locality staged a Wakat Meepham at Pukhao Laipham today.

According to the protestors, after serving a demand note of Rs 5 lakhs signed by project officer Nongthang of KCP on April 30, unidentified gunmen opened fire at the residence e of Okram Saratchandra on May 6 .

The unidentified gunmen have also allegedly threatened the family members with bomb attack if the demand is not met.

sOkram Saratchandra is said to be teacher in a private school.
