Imphal, July 31 2026: Professor RK Hemakumar Singh has been made VC-in-charge of Manipur University as an interim arrangement by the High Court of Manipur.

An order to this effect was passed today by the High Court after the retirement of Professor Sumitra Phanjoubam, who held the office following a similar arrangement by the Court.

RK Hemakumar is the seniormost Professor after Sumitra Phanjoubam, who retired today, observed the Court today while ordering him to take charge as VC on in-charge basis.
