At least four persons who suffered injuries in police action during the course of the ongoing agitation for revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur have been admitted to JN Hospital, Porompat on August 20 and 21, according to a statement of the Emergency Relief Committee being opened at the hospital.
Thokchom Manglem (53) of Kongba Ucheckon who was hit by a tear gas shell was admitted on August 21.While Irom Ongbi Kananbala Devi (40) of Bamon Kampu, who is also the secretary of the Public Action Committee, Kharaibam Tomba Meitei of Soibam Leikai and Sanoujam Ibemba of Heingang Makha Leikai who also suffered injuries in police action were admitted to the Hospital on August 21.The statement further informed that a total amount of Rs 3480 was donated by social organisations and individuals to the Relief Committee today.
