AR's 175th raising celebrated

Imphal, January 05 2010: The 34 Assam Rifles celebrated 175th anniversary of raising the outfit with a function with various games, sports including football and volleyball matches with locals at all company posts and battalion headquarters on January 3 .

Locals of the area actively participated in all the events, stated a statement of the PRO, IGAR(S) adding that sports items including cricket bat and ball, football and volleyball were also distributed to local sports clubs.

Cultural events depicting rich traditional of Manipur were also organised apart from giving gifts and prizes.

Another occasion, 34 AR provided ration items and administrative stores to Mission Blind School, Heikapokpi, Kakching on January 3, it added.
