Imphal, August 04 2021: A Mahila Shakti Kendra was inaugurated by 44 Assam Rifles commandant at Dikhuiram village under Tamei sub-division on Tuesday.

The newly renovated and revamped local women's association office was constructed by 44 AR with the support of the villagers.

The AR commandant dedicated the centre to the spirit and grit of local indigenous people who worked hard with troops of Assam Rifles.

He said their dream of "Choosing to Challenge" has been fulfilled.

During the programme, a memoir commemorating the grit of these women was also released.

Later a plant that symbolises prosperity through women power was planted in the courtyard of the building.
