AR nabs two UKLA-MC members

Churachandpur, May 27 2021: Acting On a tipoff regarding a group serving extortion letter, 25 Assam Rifles conducted operation in Songpi area and apprehended two individuals belonging to the United Kuki Liberation Army - Military Council (UKLA-MC), a non-SoO group on Wednesday.

The two arrested persons have been identified as self-styled finance secretary of UKLA-MC Letjakai Touthang alias 1h Anthony Kuki, 27, s/olhenkhothang Touthang of Janglenphai in Churachandpur and SS homesecretary Sominhao Touthang, 28; s/o Jangmang Touthang of Jangnomphai village, Churachandpur.

One printed and signed demand letter, two mobile phones, 11 SP tablets (drugs) and a Bajaj Pulsar bike (MN02B 0996) were recovered from the two.

The two individuals and the seized items have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station by the 25 AR personnel.

In this connection, the Churachandpur PS has registered an FIR to initiate further investigation and legal process.
