Jiribam police seizes liquor, arrests one

Jiribam, July 03 2021: A team of Jiribam district police seized 142 one-litre bottles of DIC liquor from a Tata truck at Leingangpokpi on Saturday and arrested the driver.

According to Jiribam police, the Tata truck (MN-04A-3065) coming from Imphal direction was stopped for checking at Leingangpokpi outpost gate along NH-37 by a team of Leingangpokpi OP led by OP incharge SI N Premjit Singh around 9 am .

Upon checking, 142 bottles of one litre capacity tucked in three gunny bags were detected inside the vehicle.

The driver has been identified as Laishram Inao Singh (52) s/o L Ibohanbi Singh of Sekmai Leipat, Imphal West.

The seized liquor and the arrested person have been handed over to Jiribam Excise station for further action.
