Imphal, December 27 2009: Three grocery shops of Leimakhong Fancy Bazar have been completely reduced to cinders in a raging inferno which broke out at about 11.30 am today.

It is suspected that the fire might have originated from an LPG cylinder.

The fire was put under control before it could spread to surrounding structures.

The grocery shops gutted by the fire were also used as houses.

It is reported that properties worth around Rs 5 lakhs have been destroyed by the fire.
