Imphal, July 21 2024: Imphal-Moreh Transport Association has decided to cease work indefinitely from July 25, it said in a statement today.

The decision to cease work was taken against collection of illegal taxes on the Imphal-Moreh road and harassment meted out to its drivers, the association said.

It urged authorities concerned to take action against individuals collecting illegal taxes on the road, and appealed to groups to release goods confiscated.

It asked individuals/groups concerned not to collect taxes from vehicles carrying firewood and stop harassing drivers on the road.
